Not a 'trivial' question at all, but on a side note, hopefully the total amount of cost to the company should be subtracted from the executive bonus payout due this month. The cost to AA - Airline Pilot Central Forums (2) Can't remember the exact date, but it is this month sometime.

A great idea, but pilot pay raises should be coming out of their bonus. Their screw up should come directly out of their regular paycheck. The cost to AA - Airline Pilot Central Forums (8)

Flight crew pay is protected, so if a flight they were scheduled on canceled because of this, they are still getting paid.

Each passenger stranded recieves, 500 travel voucher, and hotel and food all comped.

I am not certain about the ground crew, I know at BNA they have all been coming to work as usuall, they just are sitting around.

Dear JayDee,

Do tell us how Flight Crew pay is protected? Yes, please do.
You are not a pilot for AA so shut up.
I am a pilot for AA.
AA pilot pay is never protected.
Only the last trip of the month in the last 7 days of the bid are pay protected for mechanical issues. Not for misconnecting. You go home with out pay or min garantee of 64 hours.
We at AA have the worst pay protection of all the majors.

Now most likely our managment will say that they are pay protecting pilots for this event, but in reality it will only be those that were canceled yesterday and today and only if you put yourself in makeup which is managment speak for reserve.
There is no monthly garantee for AA pilots other than 64 hours and sometimes less than that.
Eagle has total line protection. AA pilots do not.
Most Super 80 pilots might get 1 trips pay but most likely not two trips protection. And if anything else cancels before the last trip of the last week, well "No Soup for you"

Also JayDee a couple days ago you claimed to be on the phone with Tulsa about all these maintence problems.

ARE YOU A AA SPOKEPERSON?

I am merely repeating what I read. I am not a spokesman for AA, however that would most certainly pay more than my current job. I do however have access to jetnet, just like, every thing I posted I pulled from there. I suggest you read it. Whether or not it is correct, I cannot verify.

As for me talking to people in Tulsa, Sure i was. I know several of the Aircraf Routing managers, and a couple of people at the MX facilities. So yea, I did call them and say, "hey what the hell is going on?"

So I cannot help what is being said, and what is actually happening. So dont kill the messenger, I am only repeating what I have been told.

Besides that, Have I been incorrect? I dont think so. Even the things you disagree with are taken from articles on JetNet.

So instead of telling me to shut up, maybe you vent your frustrations on your union rep. Or someone that can actually do something for you, other than point out your errors.

If you dont want me to post here, that is fine. I wont, however, you, my friend are in no position to tell me to shut up. Ever.

2,400 flights canceled. I'm thinking with cost to aircraft, hotel rooms, food vouchers, getting them tickets on other flights, and $500 travel vouchers for in the future I'm gonna make my guess at $350mil. My Price is Right guess. If anyone guesses $350,000,001 I might have to track you down.

However you got access to jetnet ?????? Your Mom, wife I do not know.
I just checked Jetnet again. Right now.

But since you know everything about AA pilot pay from Jetnet, then do tell sir, do tell us all agin how these Super 80 pilots are going to get paid?
Do tell?
I am a pilot for AA, perhaps you'd like to tell me?

Shut your pie hole!

The AA Super 80 pilots will most likely (not certain) be paid for one trip affected by this managment screw up. They will lose money for all other trips affected. They will lose their monthly total pay. Some if they get reassigned or put themselves on reserve might get paid.
Commuters will get screwed on pay.
There is no such thing as pay protection for the pilots of AA.

I am in a position to tell you to shut up. You are talking about my job, and my paycheck or lack therof.

I actually dont think that they are. To my understanding, they aren't 100% pay protected for cancellations. Additionally, imagine the guys who were trying to commute in for work, and had to no-show themselves. Im sure AMR will screw the APA guys on pay.
